What is Personal Attendant Care
Personal Attendant Care refers to a range of services provided by trained caregivers to assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care tasks that they may have difficulty performing on their own due to age, disability, illness, or other conditions. The goal of personal attendant care is to help individuals maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while receiving the support they need to manage their daily routines.
What is Respite Care
Respite care is a type of temporary care designed to provide relief for primary caregivers who are responsible for the ongoing care of an individual, often a family member, who needs constant assistance due to age, disability, chronic illness, or other conditions.

Personal Attendant Care
Once patients become a part of our family, we will put together the perfect care plan to provide services that perfectly fit their needs. The goal of personal attendant care services is to help individuals maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while receiving the support they need to manage their daily routines. Those services include but are not limited to the following:
- Personal Hygiene Assistance: Bathing, showering, oral hygiene, grooming, and hair care.
- Dressing and Undressing: Assistance with choosing appropriate clothing, putting on and taking off clothes, and fastening buttons, zippers, and shoelaces.
- Mobility and Transfer Assistance: Helping clients move around the home safely, assisting with getting in and out of bed or a wheelchair, and support with walking and using mobility aids (e.g., walkers, canes).
- Toileting and Incontinence Care: Assistance with using the toilet, support with changing adult briefs, and maintaining hygiene.
- Medication Management: Reminders to take prescribed medications, assistance with organizing medications, and monitoring for side effects.
- Meal Preparation and/or Feeding: Planning and preparing nutritious meals, assisting with eating and drinking, and monitoring dietary restrictions.
- Companionship and Emotional Support: Engaging in conversations and activities, providing emotional support, and accompanying clients to appointments and social events.
- Light Housekeeping: Cleaning and tidying living spaces, laundry and ironing, and changing bed linens.
- Exercise and Physical Activity: Assisting with prescribed exercise routines, encouraging physical activity, and accompanying clients on walks or outings.
Respite Care
WELLCARE SUPPORT removes the challenging responsibility of managing the care needed for a loved one or family member when the primary caregiver is unavailable. Our Respite Care consists of the same services as Personal/Attendant Care services but also includes the following:
- Short-term In-home Care: Providing temporary in-home care for a few hours, a day, or overnight to allow primary caregivers time to attend to personal matters or simply rest.
- Flexible Settings: Care can be provided in the individual’s home, a respite care center, adult day care center, or residential facility.
- Supportive Services: Providing referrals and connections to help access essential services not offered by the current primary caregiver. Examples include:
- Connecting caregivers with doctors, specialists, and therapists, as well as clinics and hospitals for specialized treatments or consultations.
- Providing information on support groups specific to the patient’s condition, including emotional and practical assistance, and suggesting peer-to-peer support networks and forums for sharing experiences and advice.
- Providing information on financial assistance programs for respite care and medical expenses, and referring to community resources like meal delivery services and transportation assistance.
